Position Description
Directs and coordinates activities for purchasing, distributing, maintaining, and repairing capital equipment, machinery and
supplies for the organization. Manages detailed record keeping of inventory on all units throughout sector. Manages and
maintains CMHC vehicle fleet. Coordinates and assists with the management of TTUHSC Managed Care contracts.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop/maintain tracking and approval system for repairs, maintenance, and replacement of capital equipment.
  • Produces fiscal data for all capital expenditures including repairs and capital replacement.
  • Initiates activity with vendors and TTUHSC purchasing department to procure capital equipment, repair, and lease/maintenance agreements.
  • Coordinates/monitors disposal, transfer and/or reassignment of Capital equipment, vehicles and inventories.
  • Formulates and presents procurement proposals.
  • Coordinate with UTMB and TTUHSC Radiation Safety Officer all bureau of Radiation and Safety control issues.
  • Point of contact with TDCJ prison units on capital equipment purchases and repairs.
  • HQ facility administration duties to include offsite storage space organization and space surveys.
  • Responsible for CMHC vehicle fleet management and maintenance as well as monthly data analysis.
  • Overall management of CMHC's contracts department to ensure compliance with HSC policies and procedures (review and create)
  • Creates CHHC contract strategy; implements metric to measure contract performance.
  • Provide accurate contract reports and analysis of contracting to various parties..
  • Negotiate new contracts as needed; drivers for unit cost.
  • Coordinate with the TTUHSC contract office as needed on all contract issues.
  • Handle daily calls and correspondence from vendors for all contract issues.
  • Keep accurate filing system of CMHC's contracts as needed.
