Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions
Oversee Patient Services Department to include supervision of daily operations and personnel.
Oversee Medical Records Department to include supervision of daily operations and personnel.
Oversee day-to-day operation of the Specialty Clinic through communication with TTUHSC SOM department heads, administrators, physicians and TDCJ personnel. Supervise Specialty Clinic Coordinator.
Communicates with team members and supervisor for adequate information exchange to fulfill Access To Care goals/standards.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, allied healthcare providers and affiliated hospitals.
Maintain and monitor systems to assure Access to Care is met for all on-site and off-site appointments.
Maintaining electronic database required hard files and reports, draft routine correspondence and develop special administrative analyses upon request.
Exercises creative approaches to communication and problem solving. Deals with conflict and problematic situations in an open and tactful manner.
Participate in Administration meetings and/or committees as needed to represent the Patient Services, Medical Records, Specialty Clinic and EMR department.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.

Pay Statement
