Position Description
This a responsible professional Position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation and diagnostic services as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice.

Other essential duties include:
Detection of severe mental illness in all Operational Policy interaction.
  • Offender Risk Management
  • General Operational Policies management of severely mental ill and at risk offenders.
  • Processes referrals to medical and mental health providers.
  • Processes referrals to Crisis Management.
  • Reports Offender Protection Investigation (OPI) and offender threats to others to security as instructed by Safe Prisons Plan.
  • Correct and thorough completion of all types of clinical interviews.
  • Assessments written based upon balanced clinical judgment.
  • Processes releases from Mental Health Observation/Constant Direct Observation  (MHO/CDO)
  • Effectively prioritizing job duties while maintaining risk management as a priority.
  • Provides testing, counseling, diagnostic, and caseload management services for patients on assigned caseload.
  • Participates as a Treatment Team member in developing and reviewing individual Treatment Plans.
  • Manage all clinical aspects of assigned caseload including logs, Diagnostic and Evaluation data and cross coverage.
  • Interview and assess patients mental status, prepares reports, provide crisis intervention and individual and group counseling.
  • Respond to Sick Call Requests and I-60's.
  • Comply with personnel and administrative procedures in filing license and leave requests.

Preferred Qualifications
The applicant must have the ability to function effectively and professionally as a part of a multidiscipline treatment team.  The Applicant must have knowledge of the principles, ethics, terminology and procedures of psychological assessment, individual and group treatment. Must be able to skillfully analyze data and integrate information into appropriate reports or documentation.  Must have a strong work ethic and follow APA ethical guidelines.
